We offer a variety of thread lift procedures, including MINT Threads.
Thread Lift
What is a Thread Lift?
Visible signs of facial aging are often due to a loss of collagen, which contributes to wrinkles and sagging or loose skin. A thread lift is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses absorbable sutures to lift and tighten skin without surgery. This facial rejuvenation treatment is sometimes referred to as a non-surgical facelift or a plastic surgery alternative.
How Does a Thread Lift Procedure Work?
In a thread lift procedure, dissolvable sutures are placed underneath the subcutaneous layer of skin. Thread lifting works in two ways: by suspending the skin for a natural-looking but noticeable lift, and also by boosting the body’s natural collagen production for increased elasticity and more youthful looking skin.1
Where Can Thread Lifting be Used?
Thread Lifting can:
- Lift loose skin on the mid-face and lower face
- Add contour to cheekbones
- Smooth away smoker’s lines
- Treat the jawline to diminish the appearance of jowls
- Tighten the décolletage
- Provide an eyebrow lift
- Lift and tighten the neck
- Soften nasolabial folds (marionette lines)
- Minimize fine line
Benefits of a Thread Lift
- Non-surgical and minimally invasive
- No downtime needed
- Boosts natural collagen production
- Offers a non-surgical alternative to traditional facelift or neck lift procedures
- May be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as BOTOX or injectable dermal fillers
Your Thread Lift Experience
Each Thread Lift treatment is custom-tailored to meet your individual needs and aesthetic goals.
Preparing for Your Thread Lift
You may schedule a consultation appointment to discuss your treatment options with one of our expert providers. You may be advised to discontinue blood-thinning medications for a few days prior to your procedure appointment.
What Happens During a Thread Lift Treatment
Your provider will cleanse the treatment area and use lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to ensure your comfort during the procedure. They will then strategically inject the threads. There are no sutures or bandages needed.
Recovery and Results After a Thread Lift Treatment
After your thread lift, you may experience temporary redness, tenderness, bruising, and/or swelling of the treated area. Results are noticeable immediately and will continue to improve as new collagen production increases—optimal results are usually seen about one month after the initial treatment.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Thread Lift?
If you would like an effective non-surgical anti-aging treatment with long-term results, a thread lift may be right for you. Ideal candidates are in good general health with mild to moderate skin laxity and realistic expectations.
MINT Threads
MINT threads are another type of PDO Thread Lift. What makes MINT threads unique is their patented molding technology; the threads are made with 360 degrees of molded helical barbs for a multi-directional lift. MINT threads are especially well-suited to improve the appearance of deep nasolabial folds.
Frequently Asked Questions About Thread Lifts
Does thread lifting treatment hurt?
The treatment area will be prepped with a local anesthetic at the beginning of your appointment. You may feel some tenderness in the hours after treatment, once the anesthetic wears off.
What are the risks of a thread lift?
All procedures, even non-surgical ones, come with some risk of side effects or complications. Fortunately, serious side effects are rare with thread lifting when performed by a qualified and experienced provider. The most common side effects are temporary redness or swelling, while rare side effects include infection or thread extrusion.
Will I have any scarring from a thread lift?
No, there are no incisions involved in a thread lift treatment and the very fine needle used for injection will not cause scarring.
How long will my thread lift results last?
This can vary based on the treatment area and an individual’s unique healing factors, but thread lift results generally last 6 to 18 months.
