Luscious Lashes, Effortless Eyebrows, Real Results
Q&A With Raquel Campos
When patients are looking for longer, fuller, and fluttery eyelashes, Deep Blue Med Spa offers eyelash extensions made of silk and mink. Some patients say they would like an alternative to mascara and fake eyelashes or wish to replenish their lashes that have thinned overtime. To compliment the lashes, eyebrows frame the face, and microblading will give the appearance of hair for the brows and result in an overall full and beautiful look. These treatments have become popular trends that enhance the eyes.
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are an enhancement designed to add length, volume, and thickness to the natural eyelashes. It is best for any patient looking for an alternative to mascara or eye makeup, patients who have cosmetic sensitivities, or patients who have thinning natural lashes.
How are eyelash extensions applied?
Eyelash extensions are individually placed with a medical grade adhesive used for eyelash extensions only which has more retention and is speed drying. The lashes are not attached to the lid, so the natural lashes can grow on their growth cycle. The patient and Medical Aesthetician will create goals to determine how natural or dramatic the lashes will look. It is customizable for every patient.
Is there aftercare between treatments?
The aftercare process is super important. I tell my patients to wait 3 hours after each lash treatment before getting them wet via shower or pool. I recommend applying a lash serum daily to maintain the natural lash growth, such as Revitalash, because it does not cause irritation or discomfort to the eye. Revitalash products can be purchased at Deep Blue Med Spa locations. I suggest washing the lashes with lash shampoo and gently brushing with an eyelash brush to prevent tangling.
How often do I need to get my lashes redone?
Fillings are typically 2 to 3 weeks apart, as we shed an average of 3-5 lashes daily, but optimal results will depend on the aftercare process between treatments. Taking care of the lashes help maintain them and allow for growth and more time in between the fillings.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing that is manually done by a Medical Aesthetician. This is best for any patient who wants to give the appearance of hair for patchy, thin, or missing brows.
How does Microblading work?
Before starting the procedure, topical numbing cream is applied to aid any discomfort during the treatment. It is done by tattooing super fine lines throughout the entire brow with a small blade to give the appearance of natural hairs and can be done to fill out super sparse brows.
How do you find a color that matches my skin complexion?
The color pigment is matched through the undertone, not by hair color, and it can be customized for any patient.
How often will I need to get Microblading redone?
The results of your treatment will vary in duration based on your skin type and skincare routine. Patients typically receive touch ups to pigmentation every 1-2 years.
Can Microblading be removed?
Removal is a separate service and is done manually. For patients that currently have the tattoos and are looking to have it removed, I would recommend saline tattoo removal.
What do you enjoy most about these services?
I am a fan of all the benefits of these treatments! For example, eyelash extensions are an alternative to mascara and fully customizable for a desired look. I also love the look on patients faces when they see the results with microblading. I reframed their face with one service, and essentially created eyebrows that were not there before. Above all, I love making deep and lasting connections with my clients.
